Dromy® Linseed oil for all categories of horses, dogs and cats is produced by cold pressing from the seeds of Linum Usitatissimum Linaceae. The seed contains mucilage polysaccharides, proteins, tocopherols, tocotrienols, lignans and enzymes. The oil contains omega 6 linoleic acid and omega 3 α - linolenic acid, oleic. Both types of acids ensure the structural integrity of cell membranes. The most important component of linseed oil should be considered α-linolenic acid (ALA), included in the group of essential unsaturated omega-3 fatty acids, without which the body cannot function flawlessly. ALA is a source for the synthesis of EPA (eicosapentaenoic) fatty acids, which has an anti-inflammatory and anti-catabolic effect, and DHA (docosahexaenoic) acids, which positively affects the metabolism of nervous tissue. Both of these acids are part of cell membranes and tissue hormones. Horses, like other mammals, need linoleic acid and α-linolenic acid as a starting material for the further formation of physiological fatty acids. A lack of essential fatty acids can be manifested by a decrease in the body's defenses, changes in the skin, fatigue, and impaired growth and reproduction. Administration of the oil is safe for pregnant, lactating and young individuals.
